Eyewitness Identification Policies

The Law and Justice Interim Committee indicated at its June 2015 meeting that it would like to study Montana's current eyewitness identification practices and policies, national standards related to lineups, and any implementation challenges in Montana. The topic was initially raised by House Joint Resolution 14 in the 2015 session. After reviewing the results from the interim study poll of legislators, the Legislative Council recommended the study not be undertaken as an interim committee study. The Law and Justice Interim Committee agreed to take an initial look at the issue, while not undertaking a full study. Materials and information related to the topic will be posted here as they become available.
